I opened Instagram and now I need therapy 🫠

Hey Bootstrapper,

Tired of business advice that doesn't feel like...YOU? This newsletter is your permission slip to build your business on your own terms...let's dive in!

So, I just got back from a whirlwind family vacation—the kind where you’re Googling ā€œkid-friendly pubsā€ while passing snacks to the back seat, while hubby is driving on the wrong left side of the road and wondering why you thought this would be the thing to ā€œrechargeā€ you. šŸ˜‚

It wasn’t a chill, beachy kind of rest. It was a ā€œgo-go-go, do-all-the-things, try-not-to-lose-a-child-in-the-airportā€ kind of rest (I won't lie, I totally air-tagged their shoes #anxiousmama)!

The kind that leaves you needing a vacation from your vacation.

And somewhere in the chaos, I fell back into an old habit that I realllllly thought I was past: scrolling.

Like doom-scrolling...scrolling. Comparison-scrolling. Watching what everyone else is doing in their business-scrolling.

And after months of mostly being off socials (shout out to my static grid!)...my nervous system did not like that.

I was comparing, raging, FOMOing, and feeling like I was behind.

It made me realize—again—that so much of the hustle, the overwhelm, the ā€œI’m not doing enoughā€ anxiety? It doesn’t come from us.

It’s baked into the system.

The pressure to be everything, everywhere, all at once...

To not miss a single trend...

To keep up with every voice in your industry, even if they have a team of five and a housecleaner and summer childcare...

It’s a trap. A tool of the patriarchy, honestly. Because when we're exhausted and doubting ourselves, we're less likely to challenge these systems (and claim the power, rest, and resources we deserve).

And I want no part in it.

So here’s what I’m doing instead: I'm re-centering. Rebuilding. Reimagining.

I'm in the middle of a business shift—one that’s designed to make my services and tools more accessible to women like YOU!

Women who are building heart-first businesses without a trust fund or a VA team. Women in the messy middle who need support that doesn’t cost $10K or come with a side of ā€œfigure it out yourself.ā€

It’s exciting. It’s aligned. And yeah...it’s slow.

Good things take time, right?! Could you tell my brain that, though, please?

I’ve cut back on client work to make space for this pivot and also because...summer. (Shout out to everyone trying to run their business while mediating sibling fights and cleaning popsicle goo off the floor.)

But you know what? I’m really trying not to rush it because I'm designing my business to be sustainable, to challenge social norms, and to inspire other women to prioritize their well-being FIRST.

The scroll trap made me feel like I was falling behind, but that’s just not my pace.

And I’m betting it’s not yours either.

So if you’ve been caught in the comparison or doom spiral lately, here’s your invitation to unfollow businesses in your industry, delete the apps (again), and come back to your own rhythm.

Because your way? It’s the one that actually works.

Sometimes we just need a little reminder!

On that note, I’ve got a juicy new tool that I've been working on—a brand strategy bot trained with all my secret ingredients called the Brand Recipe Maker—and I’m looking for a few cool humans to test it out before it goes live.

It’s designed to help you get clear on your brand foundations (without hiring a strategist or staring at a blank doc for hours).

Want in on a free beta round? Just hit reply and say ā€œI want in!ā€ and I’ll send you the details.

Thank you so much for reading and giving me space in your inbox! I am so grateful for you.

Hey YOU! Tired of business advice that doesn't feel like...YOU? This newsletter is your permission slip to build your business on your own terms...let's dive in! The last few weeks have been so busy in our house, with lots of rep hockey and schedule chaos (but what else is new?!). I feel like I'm finally coming out of a bit of an iffy energy stretch, where everything was feeling like it took more effort than usual. This little bump in the road led me to finally finding a new therapist. YAY!...

Hey YOU! Tired of business advice that doesn't feel like...YOU? This newsletter is your permission slip to build your business on your own terms...let's dive in! First off, can we have a *moment* for my new brand photos by Sisterhood Photography (peep the cute cover photo)! As someone who lives and breathes branding, I love getting a fresh shoot done each year...but this one felt extra special since it was my first session with my new business name. That said... oof, the process is no joke....

Last time I emailed you, I shared about how following my intuition led to a shift in my business. That tiny nudge led me to hire a business coach whose energy felt exactly right for me—equal parts kind, curious, and not afraid to give me the loving kick I needed. And working with them led me towards my business name change and doing...
