Hey Reader,Confession: I hate showing my work. To me, it often feels like a waste of my time. It's boring and sooooo draining! And yet I hear so often from marketing experts that you need to..."show your value," "explain what makes you different," and "prove that you are the expert." When really...I think it's more effective to show who you are as a person. Don't get me wrong...as an AuDHDer it makes me feel less anxious to know what's about to happen when I work with someone. Like how I NEED to know exactly (EXACTLY) where I can park if I'm going somewhere new (IYKYK, lol). You know, the exact thing marketers tell you NOT to do? I actually really like it. I want to know step-by-step what will happen and what's included. I get what they're saying though...that there is more to being chosen than just sharing your list of "what's included." But I don't think people should have to play a sleazy salesperson role to prove they are worthy of your business. Service providers often focus too much on proving why someone needs their service (*rolls eyes* thanks marketers!), when really the most effective marketing strategy is BEING YOURSELF. People have to like you to want to work with you. Rather than waste your precious energy on proving why they need your service, focus on showing them that WHEN they need your service...YOU are the right person to help them. In other words, people who are searching for your service will choose you because they like you. So, now you might be wondering...how do you become likeable? You don't. You become a lighthouse, drawing people to you. You do this by repelling the "wrong" fit clients and by shining bright for the right fit clients. You share your story, your challenges, your opinions, your voice, your personality, and your passions. Being Yourself is the Strategy™. Before you write another caption, redo your website, or spend a dollar on ads, get clear on what you’re going to share about yourself. No performing required. If you want a guided way to figure out what to share about yourself (without the sleazy salesperson energy), that’s what my Being Yourself is the Strategy™ course is for. 👉 Peek inside here P.S. Hit reply and tell me which part of “showing your work” you hate the most!! xo Emily 💋 |

Hey Reader, I think there is nothing wrong with sharing your systems, frameworks, or beliefs with others to HELP people (I literallyyy do this for a living). But I've also learned that I have to be okay with people taking away what's useful for them AND be okay with them leaving what isn't. This is also something I've had to figure out for myself. I'm getting ready to launch a course and so I've been hiring experts, getting a second set of eyes on my stuff, running my writing through AI to to...
Hey Reader, I paid over $8,300 in business expenses over the last two months while building my new course, and I didn't even bat an eyelash. Okay... maybe a tiny flutter. But mostly, it was genuine excitement for what's coming. Ten years ago, spending that kind of money on myself would have made me physically sick. Back then, I wore layers upon layers of social conditioning. I operated like a textbook "good girl" making sure to keep myself nice, small, and digestible. I kept my prices modest,...
Hey Reader, *The survey winner will be announced in this email, so read on!* I've been spending too much time on Threads lately and the whole vibe of the online business space has been seriously bumming me out. Coaches scamming people. Events not delivering. Everyone pushing their services as the "one" thing that will make your business successful (when there are actually SO MANY pieces to the puzzle). And I think that's why sometimes branding gets a bad reputation. Branding in the hands of...
